Beer and wine for Mom and Dad, ice cream for the kids
Next time you’re in Florida, check out Tiger Woods’s latest venture – a chain of sports bar-restaurant and miniature golf entertainment venues called PopStroke.
Just like on tour, Woods is taking golf somewhere it’s never been before. The concept behind PopStroke is simple: miniature golf outside and a casual dining restaurant, with big-screen TVs and leaderboards inside.
The recent announced groundbreaking in Waterford Lakes, north of Orlando, marks the fourth Florida location for the company. It is one of seven previously announced locations expected to open in 2022 that include Sarasota, Houston, Salt River/Scottsdale, Glendale, Tampa, and Delray, Florida.
Two locations – Fort Meyers and Port St. Lucie, both in Florida – are already up and running.
Each PopStroke will property feature two 18-hole putting courses designed by Tiger Woods and TGR Design. Other amenities include a Jumbotron screen on the course featuring the day’s leaderboard; an outdoor gaming area with ping pong; corn hole and foosball; and a full-service open-air restaurant and bar with big-screen TVs for sports viewing.
There also is an ice cream parlor and a playground. Each location features a variety of craft beer, wine, ice cream, and food. The golf experience is designed for players of all ages and skill levels, the company says.
PopStroke is headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, where Woods lives.
“Our design approach emphasizes playability and providing a multitude of options for players of all abilities,” the company says.
TGR, Tiger Woods Ventures unites Woods’s entrepreneurial and philanthropic endeavors off the course under a singular parent brand.
TGR is guided by Tiger’s vision and driven by the qualities that have made him a champion: a focused mindset, a precise method, and a relentless pursuit of mastery. The TGR team is comprised of leaders from diverse backgrounds across education, technology, business, and sport – all united in a shared mission to help others define, embody, and experience excellence in their own unique ways.
