Mini golf venue backed by Tiger Woods

Alabama’s first PopStroke will open Jan. 17 in Tuscaloosa.

Billed as an “elevated mini golf and casual outdoor dining experience”, PopStroke is backed by investors that include Tiger Woods and TaylorMade Golf.

The Tuscaloosa venue is located on Harper Lee Drive and within a mile of the University of Alabama campus.

It features two 18-hole mini golf courses, an elevated quick-service dining experience on an expansive outdoor patio with a full bar offering craft beers and mixed drinks, a private event space overlooking both courses, and oversized televisions and screens throughout the property.

The venue’s two 18-hole putting courses are built entirely with synthetic turf, incorporating fairways, bunkers, and rough just as you would see on a traditional golf course.

In addition, it features an ice cream parlor with 16 flavors, custom milkshakes, and plenty of outdoor games including ping pong, foosball, and corn hole. Like all PopStroke locations, guests can track of their scores from their mobile devices and order drinks and food for delivery through the PopStroke App.

Tuscaloosa is the 10th PopStroke location

“We are excited to bring the first Collegiate PopStroke experience to the city of Tuscaloosa and the home of the Crimson Tide,” PopStroke Founder and CEO Greg Bartoli said in a release announcing the opening.

“Our mission is to bring people together through golf entertainment, regardless of age or skill level, and to leave our guests with lasting memories of their time at PopStroke. Tuscaloosa is the perfect place to welcome a mix of students, families, young professionals, and retirees.”

“I am over the moon with excitement about the opening of Popstroke,” President of The Tuscaloosa City Council Kip Tyner said. “Family-friendly entertainment is a top request from my constituents, and boy, did we hit a home run with this incredible venue.”

The entertainment venue offers various event packages for parties of all sizes and hosts competitive putting tournaments throughout the year, including weekly putting leagues. PopStroke has 10 locations across Florida, Texas, Arizona, and Alabama, with 10 additional venues under development and expected to open by the end of 2024.

The venue will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on Jan. 16. Doors will open to the public at noon on Wednesday, Jan, 17. Regular business hours are Sunday-Thursday 10 a.m-11 p.m, Friday-Saturday 10 a.m- midnight.
