ORLANDO, Fla.  – My last day at the PGA Show has been a whirlwind of activity.

It started early meeting Jennifer Saxton at the Shot Scope booth, where she showed off three new products along with their existing lines. The product I was most interested in learning about is their new LM1 Launch Monitor. This portable launch monitor is a game changer for those of us who want an uncomplicated set of data to look at during practice sessions.

The LM1 Launch Monitor gives feedback in five main areas – swing speed, ball speed, smash factor, carry distance and total distance. Best of all is the price point – a mere $199 and there is no subscription required.

Saxton, who has been with Shot Scope for eight years, said it’s the most interest she has seen in a new Shot Scope product ever.

I hit up the massive apparel section – stopped by the True booth. If you haven’t owned a pair of True golf shoes – I highly recommend them. Super stylish and comfortable.

Topping off Day 2 at the PGA Show was catching up with a few people I know. John Morton of Birmingham, a golf historian who owns Auld Grey Toun Books, stopped by for a few minutes. You can check him out at AuldGreyTounGolf.com. He’s a two-time guest on The Cart Barn Podcast of which I am a co-host.

Then I hit up the Visit Scotland booth where author Stephen Proctor was holding court in support of the Old Tom Morris Trail and his new book “Matchless: Joyce Wethered, Glenna Collett and the Rise of Women’s Golf”.

Rob Collins also was hanging out at the Visit Scotland booth. Collins is one of the hottest course designers in the business right now. His story began with the building of the acclaimed Sweetens Cove in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Currently, he has four projects underway – including the addition of a short course at Sweetens Cove. Construction will begin in April and he said it could be open by late 2026 or early 2027.

It’s hard to describe the expanse that is the PGA Show. There are multiple vendors for just about every aspect of the game – from divot repair tools and tees to the latest and greatest ways to pick the range, to travel and leisure and equipment. Shafts, push carts, teaching aids, golf games, simulators – you can find it at the PGA Show.
