Actress-golfer designs own clothing line

A Hollywood actress and golfer dissatisfied with her golf apparel options did what entrepreneurs often do – she started her own company: Fia Green and its line of high-end sportswear.

Julianne Arrietta, a long-time golfer, discovered during the Covid-19 pandemic that she couldn’t find the performance apparel she demanded, so she started designing clothing to appeal to women players interested in both performance and style.

Arrietta is working actress with recent credits in films such as “The Independent” (Brian Cox, Ann Dowd, John Cena), “Reagan” (Dennis Quaid, John Voight) and “Freelance” (John Cena, Allison Brie, Christian Slater). She’s also a working mother, according to her husband, Michael Arrietta, who is a co-owner of Fia Green.

“Our line is currently carried at top locations such as Los Angeles Country Club, Chambers Bay, Muirfield Village” and other top-tier clubs, said Michael Arrietta, who runs the movie studio Relativity Media. That company has produced films including “Limitless” with Bradley Cooper, “The Family” with Robert DeNiro, “Hypnotic” with Ben Affleck and “Act of Valor.”

“We are an elevated line … targeting the affluent female golfer who also wants performance wear – all premium fabrics, trims…and made in the USA,” Michael Arrietta said.

“We emphasize the importance of quality and performance while still staying true to our love for eternal style and sport. We are committed to ethical manufacturing and sustainable practices with all our fabrics being Bluesign Certified – and we proudly produce our collections in the United States,” the company says on its website.

Fia Green “is an expression of California charm and ease both on and off the course,” the company says.

Its website lists sleeveless tops at $128, polos and long-sleeved tops priced at $138, athletic dresses at $228-$258, and pullovers at $238. The company’s online store is offering 30 percent off all items in July.

In keeping with the owners’ primary occupations, the Fia Green apparel line carries the last names of famous actresses: Bardot, Loren, Grable, Hepburn, Lupino, Garland, Monroe and Novak. Fia Green was launched last December.
