Plenty of Alabama mentions on best overlooked-courses list
Alabama got major props from Golf Digest, which listed the Yellowhammer state as having several of the best winter golf trips.
A piece by writer Drew Powell listed Alabama prominently under the headline, “Best Winter Golf Trips: 11 underrated trips we’re booking now.”
The piece features descriptions of courses in and around Mobile, Birmingham and Gulf Shores in Alabama.
Also featured are Destin, Fla., Tucson, Ariz., Savannah, GA., Reynolds Lake Oconee, Ga., the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Lake Charles, La., Santa Barbara, Calif., Amelia Island, Fla., and West Point, Miss.
“In terms of winter golf trip destinations, you can hardly go wrong with one of the many popular choices, including Orlando, Scottsdale, Palm Springs and Myrtle Beach.
