Wheels detach and it becomes a carry bag
The undeniable hit of the 2023 PGA Merchandise Show was Zero Friction’s Wheel Pro golf bag that does double duty as a carry bag and a push cart.
The ingeniously simple design converts a light-weight stand-up bag into a push cart with the addition of two detachable 11-inch plastic wheels. Flipping up a foldable plastic handle completes the transformation.
When not being trundled across the course, the Wheel Pro, in its push cart configuration, stands up on the bag’s extended legs, eliminating the chance it could roll down a slope. The Wheel Pro weighs in at 10 pounds and comes with a rain hood. A rain umbrella can be stowed in its own opening in the segmented club-storage area.
Wheel Pro: Cheaper than a bag and a push cart
A cell-phone pocket with a clear plastic cover on the handle side of the bag allows the user to see notifications on his or her phone. In all, the bag has seven storage compartments.
The bag’s manufacturer’s suggested price is $349.99; Zero Friction has pegged its minimum acceptable price at $319.99. At either price point, the Wheel Pro is a bargain compared to the combined price of a carry bag and a separate push cart.
When used as a carry bag, the Wheel Pro is slung over the shoulder with a single strap. A cushioned hip pad aids comfort. Its flat bottom makes it a stable cart bag.
Zero Friction had planned to introduce the bag in last fall but supply-chain disruptions arising from the Covid-19 pandemic led to the delay in its release.
