Accepts invitation to Oct. 12-15 event
Birmingham’s Scarlett Schremmer, off to a quick start in her sophomore season at the University of Miami, is just a couple of weeks away from making her LPGA Tour debut.
Scarlett Schremmer, a preseason All-America selection for the Hurricanes, was offered a sponsor’s invitation to The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in Bellair, Fla. She’ll tee it up against the some of the best players in the world in the penultimate event on the 2026 LPGA Tour schedule. The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 11-15 at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Fla.
Schremmer, who began her college career at Texas A&M before transferring to play at the University of Miami, has won two individual titles in three events this season.
“One of our goals through The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican is to elevate women’s sports and the game’s future stars, said Justin Sheehan, chief operating Officer and director of golf, Pelican Golf Club. “On behalf of Pelican Golf Club and the Doyle family, we are thrilled to offer Scarlett an invitation to compete in this year’s tournament. She is a tremendous college athlete who has had a great season at Miami thus far. We look forward to welcoming her to Pelican Golf Club for her first LPGA Tour event in November.”
The Atlantic Coast Conference Golfer of the Month in September, Schremmer turned in a record-setting performance at her second individual college win at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic. She carded a three-day total of 17-under par, the second-lowest 54-hole individual score in Miami women’s golf history.
Schremmer was a competitive surfer
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to compete against the best players in the world on the LPGA at The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in November,” Schremmer said in a release. “Thank you to Pelican Golf Club for this unbelievable opportunity. My mom played on the LPGA Tour, and it has always been my goal to follow in her footsteps. Making my LPGA debut at Annika’s event, someone I’ve looked up to my entire golf career, is very special.”
The Birmingham native was a three-time Rolex Junior All-American (2023-25), a member of the 2024 United States Junior Solheim Cup Team and she is a two-time participant at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Her mother, Patricia Ehrhart, is a former LPGA Tour professional who was the season-long money winner on the 1996 Duramed Futures Tour (now Epson Tour).
Prior to taking up golf, Schremmer was a competitive surfer. She was a three-time under-18 national shortboard champion before transitioning to golf. The late award-winning singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, a close family friend, sponsored Schremmer during her time as a competitive surfer and remained close to the family until his passing in 2023.
Schremmer joins the tournament’s first two sponsor invitatees who were previously announced – Wake Forest senior All-American Macy Pate and Epson Tour winner Annabelle Pancake-Webb.
The Annika,, Tampa Bay’s annual LPGA Tour event, is hosted by World Golf and LPGA Hall-of-Fame member Annika Sörenstam. The tournament will offer a $3.25 million purse – one of the largest outside the major championships – with proceeds benefiting the Annika Foundation.
Tickets are on sale for The Annika exclusively online at www.ThAnnika.com/tickets and via SeatGeek.
Linn Grant is the tournament’s defending champion, shooting 19-under to win by three shots. Nelly Korda has won the tournament three times. Lilia Vu and Sei Young Kim also have won the tournament.
